MADISON, Wis., Feb. 11, 2011 — Spectrum Industries Inc. recently received the 2011 Biennial Economic Development Organization Award for Outstanding Achievement by a Business. The Wisconsin Economic Development Association presented the award to Spectrum during the 2011 Governor’s Conference on Economic Development in Madison on Feb. 11, 2011.
In 1985, WEDA established the awards program to recognize exceptional contributions to the economic vitality of Wisconsin. “It is an honor to be recognized by WEDA for Outstanding Achievement by a Business,” said Scott Dorn, Spectrum Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing. “This award is a testimony of Spectrums strengths and values of providing innovative and high value products and services to customers, putting us on top of our industry market!”
Spectrum, a leading manufacturer of premium-quality products for use in educational, healthcare and business environments based in Chippewa Falls, Wis., received the award based on community interaction. Spectrum strives to be the “employer of choice in the Chippewa Valley” by implementing organizational improvements to assist employees, local organizations and corporate changes to make positive impacts on the environment. Spectrum contributes cash and merchandise to over 80 non-profit organizations and charitable causes and supports volunteerism allowing staff members to participate in volunteer and leadership roles within the community.
Another beneficiary of Spectrum’s community involvement, Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation, nominated Spectrum. WEDA recognized CCEDC’s contributions by awarding CCEDC the Economic Development Organization Award for Outstanding Achievement by an Organization during the conference.
